What is the recommended lux level for office lighting?

Office lighting levels are governed by EN 12464-1 (European standard, widely adopted internationally). Recommended lux levels by area:
- General office workstations: 500 lux at desk level (0.75m height)
- Technical drawing / CAD: 750–1000 lux for precision work
- Conference rooms: 300–500 lux with dimming for presentations
- Corridors and circulation: 150–200 lux for safe movement
- Reception areas: 200–300 lux for a welcoming but professional environment
